While much of our work is confidential, the reports and publications below are available for viewing.  (See also our recent publications.)  Each of these reports employs our evidence-based approach yielding, more often than not, unexpected findings, conclusions and recommendations.

Hospital Outcome Scores 

Because it is important for consumers to have access to the most meaningful measures of hospital quality  – outcomes (deaths and complications), we took a deep dive into the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) data to develop a national rating system by comparing rates of death and complications for nearly 4,000 hospitals as described in more detail at Hospital Outcomes Scores.

Medicare-for-All

Begun as an analysis of the cost-benefits of Medicare-for-All, this three-part series concluded that more politically realistic and less disruptive alternative approaches could provide equivalent or better care for all (legally present) Americans by combining the strengths of the private and public sectors .

The Financial Model: at Core of Business Plan

Business plans serve many purposes, from raising capital to internal management. Regardless of the purpose, they begin and end in the executive suite and the boardroom. A business plan must involve key executives and, depending upon the size of the organization, middle management and department heads in order to incorporate the specialized knowledge and experience that is essential to a realistic business strategy that can be successfully executed. This article discusses the role of the financial model in a business plan.

Debt Capacity Analysis

Determined the capacity of a municipally-owned airport to fund future capital expenditures from cash flow and bond proceeds without recourse to federal funding.  Required the review, recasting and reclassification of five years of historical financial data before building a model to forecast revenues and expenditures 5 years into the future.  Required substantial understanding of airport operations and municipal financing and budgeting.

Budget & Financial Advisory Presentation

Public presentation to the Town Board on the progress and related recommendations of the Budget & Financial Advisory Committee on various projects.  Prepared and presented in collaboration with the Committee Chair.

Data Visualization Report

This data visualization was prepared at the request of the Supervisor of the Town of East Hampton and presented together with the related findings of the Town’s paid consultants at a public meeting of interested citizens.
